Caring for Kids in Cars, Inc. was founded by Allana Pinkerton in February 2004. With state and federal budget cuts, CKC was established in order to fulfill the growing need of educating parents and caregivers about the hazards of car crashes and their impact on our children. Our programs have reached over 20,000 children, parents, physicians, firefighters, nurses and other professionals across the state since 2004. We have partnered with many organizations providing car seat education at community wide car seat checks and presentations at churches, Head Start programs and other schools. Recently, we expanded our efforts into the Teen arena. Alabama ranks 2nd in teen driving deaths in the U.S.
Our programs include:
Car Seat Check Events for any community
Power Point Presentations for parents and teens
By appointment only Car Seat Installation Education
Phone Consultations
Car Seat Program for families in need
Our future programs include:
Interactive messaging system prompting teens to buckle up
Relay safety Information to traffic offenders: partnership with State Troopers and Police Dept.
Sit Tight Safety Stations throughout the state
Scholarship Program for dedicated CPS technicians to fulfill the CEUs for recertification
